Sample Collection:
We ship all testing kits within 24 hours of receiving your order. Each testing kit contains:

• Sterile swabs used for collecting cells from inside the subject’s cheek

• Sterile storage envelopes for storage of each individual swab after sample Collection, to prevent contamination

• A business reply envelope for returning samples to our lab

• Detailed sample collection instructions.

Collection Procedure

• Fill out the appropriate information on each of the swab storage envelopes. Envelopes labled CHILD and ALLEGED FATHER are included in the kit. Other envelopes in the kit are not labeled, so they must be filled out to indicate whose sample it contains (i.e. mother, sibling, second alleged father, etc.) It is also important for statistical purposes that you provide proper race information.

• Open a package of swabs from the opposite end. DO NOT TOUCH THE SWAB TIP.

• Collect DNA samples by inserting a swab in the subject’s mouth and rubbing gently inside the cheek. There will be 4 swabs for each tested person which must be used. Use 2 on the right cheek and 2 on the left cheek.

• Put the swabs immediately inside the appropriately labeled storage envelope.

• Repeat above for each tested party.

• Place all labeled samples in the Business Reply Envelope, and return to our laboratory.
